Merv Filter

Guide

What is Merv?

Merv ratings are set on an industrial scale where you really are paying for what you get. Starting at the lowest ratings at 1, and going to the highest quality at 20, each Merv rating offers more and more protections from previous levels.

Why not just get Merv 20?

With each Merv rating, you’re adding adding in more filters to block out unwanted, harmful particles so why not go ahead and get a MERV 20? By adding in a MERV 20, you’re blocking a ton of particles but also creating more barriers for airflow. With having multiple layers of filters, some central heating and cooling units have to push through more air which can cause electric bills to increase. If you’re ever unsure about which MERV is best for you, no problem, contact us and we’ll be happy to help out!
